Hardware Engineer (Embedded/IoT)

We are in search of a seasoned Embedded Systems - QA Manager to lead our quality assurance efforts for embedded systems projects. The QA Manager will be responsible for defining QA strategies, establishing quality standards, overseeing testing activities, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality embedded software and hardware solutions. With extensive experience in QA management and embedded systems testing, the QA Manager will provide leadership, guidance, and direction to the QA team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be crucial to align QA initiatives with project goals and customer requirements, driving the achievement of quality objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. QA Strategy and Planning:
   • Define comprehensive QA strategies, methodologies, and approaches for embedded systems projects, considering project scope, objectives, and constraints.
   • Establish QA plans, objectives, and criteria for quality assurance activities, including testing, inspection, and validation.
2. Team Leadership and Management:
   • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers and testers, providing strategic direction, coaching, and support to drive excellence in QA practices.
   • Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture, promoting professional growth, development, and accountability.
3. Quality Assurance Oversight:
   • Oversee all QA activities, including test planning, test execution, defect tracking, and result analysis, ensuring adherence to established quality standards and procedures.
   • Monitor QA metrics, analyze trends, and provide insights and recommendations for process improvement and optimization.
4. Quality Standards and Compliance:
   • Establish and enforce quality standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements for embedded systems development and testing, such as ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or DO-178C.
   • Conduct QA audits, reviews, and inspections to ensure compliance with organizational standards and industry regulations.
5. Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
   • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance QA processes, tools, and methodologies, leveraging emerging technologies and best practices in the field.
   • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for innovation, optimization, and automation in embedded systems QA.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in QA management, embedded systems testing, or related roles.
• Proven leadership and management skills, with extensive experience leading QA teams in complex projects and environments.
• Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture, software/hardware interfaces, and communication protocols.
• Excellent knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices, including test automation, regression testing, and defect tracking.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to drive results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, simulation tools, and virtual environments for embedded systems QA.
• Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and tools, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Travis CI.
• Certification in software testing (ISTQB), quality management (CQM), or project management (PMP) is a plus.
