Hardware Engineer (Embedded & IoT)

Detailed Description: We are looking for a skilled Hardware Engineer (Embedded/IoT) to join our team. The Hardware Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing hardware solutions for embedded and IoT (Internet of Things) applications. This includes selecting components, designing circuits, laying out PCBs, and validating hardware performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, experience with embedded systems and IoT technologies, and proficiency in hardware design tools and techniques. As a Hardware Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative hardware solutions that meet project requirements, industry standards, and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Hardware Design and Development:
    • Design and develop hardware solutions for embedded systems and IoT applications, including microcontroller-based systems, sensor interfaces, and communication modules.
    • Select components, specify circuit architectures, and design schematics and PCB layouts using CAD tools such as Altium Designer, Eagle, or KiCad.
    • Collaborate with firmware/software engineers to define hardware requirements, interfaces, and integration points.
  2. Prototype Fabrication and Testing:
    • Build and assemble hardware prototypes, including PCB fabrication, soldering components, and assembling electronic systems.
    • Conduct functional testing, performance evaluation, and validation of hardware prototypes to ensure compliance with design specifications and project requirements.
  3. Integration and System Testing:
    • Integrate hardware components with embedded software/firmware, sensors, actuators, and communication interfaces to create complete embedded systems.
    • Conduct system-level testing, including hardware/software integration testing, functional testing, and compatibility testing.
  4. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of hardware designs, specifications, test plans, and validation procedures.
    • Generate reports and documentation to communicate design decisions, test results, and recommendations to stakeholders and project teams.
  5. Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, firmware engineers, and product managers, to align hardware design with project goals and customer requirements.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance hardware design processes, methodologies, and tools.


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in hardware engineering, embedded systems design, or related roles.
  • Proficiency in hardware design tools such as Altium Designer, Eagle, KiCad, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design, PCB layout, and signal integrity principles.
  • Experience with microcontroller/microprocessor architectures, sensors, actuators, and communication protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware prototyping, soldering, and testing equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with IoT technologies, wireless communication protocols (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zigbee), and low-power design techniques.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and certifications for hardware design and testing (CE, FCC, UL, etc.).
  • Knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for testability (DFT) principles.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
