Solutions Architect - IoT Systems

Detailed Description: We are looking for an experienced and visionary Solutions Architect specializing in IoT Systems to join our team. The Solutions Architect will be responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of comprehensive IoT solutions that meet both technical and business requirements. This role involves collaborating with clients to understand their needs, defining solution architectures, and ensuring seamless integration of IoT technologies with existing systems. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of IoT architectures, strong technical expertise, and the ability to translate complex requirements into effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Solution Design and Architecture:
   • Develop and define architecture for IoT solutions, ensuring they meet technical and business requirements.
   • Create detailed design documents, including diagrams, specifications, and integration plans, to guide development and implementation.
2. Client Engagement and Requirements Analysis:
   • Collaborate with clients to gather and analyze requirements, ensuring a thorough understanding of their needs and objectives.
   • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and design considerations.
3. Technology Selection and Integration:
   • Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, platforms, and tools for IoT solutions, considering factors such as scalability, security, and performance.
   • Oversee the integration of IoT devices, sensors, gateways, and cloud services to create a cohesive and efficient system.
4. Project Leadership and Collaboration:
   • Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of IoT projects, coordinating efforts between hardware engineers, software developers, and other stakeholders.
   • Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the project lifecycle, from conception to deployment and maintenance.
5. Security and Compliance:
   • Implement robust security measures to protect IoT systems and data, including encryption, authentication, and access control.
   • Ensure solutions comply with relevant industry standards and regulations, such as GDPR, HIPAA, and NIST guidelines.
6. Documentation and Training:
   • Produce comprehensive documentation for solution architectures, design decisions, and implementation processes.
   • Provide training and support to clients and internal teams, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and system utilization.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in designing and implementing IoT solutions, with a strong background in software and hardware integration.
• Proficiency in IoT communication protocols (MQTT, CoAP, HTTP) and networking principles.
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Google Cloud IoT) and cloud integration.
• Strong understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS), embedded Linux, and microcontroller programming.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with edge computing, data analytics, and machine learning for IoT applications.
• Knowledge of hardware design and interfacing for IoT devices, including sensors, actuators, and wireless communication modules.
• Familiarity with IoT security best practices and frameworks, such as IoT Security Foundation guidelines.
• Certification in cloud architecture (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) is a plus.
